\noindent The goal of this assignment is to classify all the groups of order less than or equal to 11 in as an elegant way as possible. You may state and use any result we have covered that list all the groups of a specific order. For example, you should not use the fact that there is only one group of order 2, but you may use the fact that if your group has prime $p$ order, then there is only one group of that order.

\noindent You will be graded both on efficiency AND completeness, in addition to clarity and other stylistic considerations. In particular, the paper should not feel like a laundry list of theorems, but you should organize your thoughts and help your reader get through the classification.

\noindent Note that this is a writing assignment, so the main focus should be on clearly communicating the ideas in the proof. I recommend looking at your favorite mathematics texts and trying to emulate their style. I also suggest you have another member of the class read through a draft before handing it in.
