MATH 2130, Linear Algebra (for Non-Math Majors), Spring 2019

Course Contents:

Examines basic properties of systems of linear equations, vector spaces, linear independence, dimension, linear transformations, matrices, determinants, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors. Intended for students who do not plan to major in Mathematics.


Lecture Hours and Venue:

MWF 10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m., FLMG 103


Homework assignments will be given on the course homepage on a bi-weekly basis. Homework is due at the beginning of each class on the second Friday following the assignment. It is the student's responsibility to get these assignments in the event of an absence from class. Homework will be graded. Late turn-ins will not be accepted. Show all your work.


Midterm exam: Friday, March 15, in class.
Final exam: Tuesday, May 7, 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Course Grading:

Your grade will be determined from the graded homework (50%), the midterm (20%), and the final exam (30%).
