A great theorem for an undergrad number theory course
Jasbir Chajal, Brigham Young University
We will count the number of points on elliptic curves over
finite fields using the quadratic reciprocity law of Gauss. While
reciprocity is a standard thing taught in undergrad courses, the other is
not. We will show a very simple proof of the Riemann hypothesis, which is
suitable for an undergrad number theory course.
