My collage, photography, and painting explores sacred geometry with forms based on the Golden Ratio. Besides showing up as a proportion throughout nature, the Golden Ratio has been understood and used as a formal element by artists throughout the ages. All my recent work is based on Golden Rectangles (aspect ratio of 1: 1.618), overlapping Golden Rectangles (aspect ratio 1:2.236), and other combinations of Golden Rectangles.

Thematically, my recent collages juxtapose images of the external world from several levels of magnification. These images, while appearing abstract, are actually representational and obey geometric and mathematical laws of form that are similar at all scales of enlargement. In other words, they also have the fractal and self-similar structure that is implied by the Golden Rectangle. I am suggesting that form in art is based on a recognition and emulation of universal structure, and that abstraction and realism are part of the same underlying process.

My most recent work has included a new series of 120 collages based on the elements earth, air, fire and water and the Golden Ratio, and a large body (400 new images) of new microphotos. During the past three years, I have been consistently productive, producing a body of panorama landscape photographs, and an exhibition of collaborative paintings, Sacred Geometry 2003, that involved the creation of five collaged Golden Rectangle paintings with four other Denver artists. Other work since 2000 has included a series of 21 framed photomontages constructed using microphotos, open-shutter experiments, macrophotographs, and landscapes, and a series of 65 exploratory Golden Ratio collages based on the concept of a collage of backgrounds.

Thanks for taking the time to view my work. I am currently arranging and promoting my own exhibitions, but would welcome inquiries regarding gallery representation or licensing of specific artwork. Gallery owners, curators, art brokers, and potential patrons may request my website on a CD-ROM for more leisurely offline viewing.
